The question nobody asks first.

After seven years of conversations with experienced executives about the second half of their professional lives, I've noticed something.

The question that's almost always underneath everything else isn't "can I do this?"

It's: "Which path is actually mine?"

Consulting?
Interim management?
A board role?
Executive search?
Some combination?

Most go in any direction.

The problem is that no one has ever helped them think it through without an agenda.

And then, behind that question, usually two more:

"I can imagine a thousand things β€” but how do I build something that actually works and lasts?"

"Do I have to figure this out completely alone?"

I've been sitting with these questions β€” in hundreds of conversations during the last seven years when building Brandt & Partners β€” long enough to know that the path exists.

It's not obvious.
It doesn't start with a grand business plan.

It starts with the right questions, in the right order, with people who are going in the same direction or who did it before and can guide you.

Over the coming weeks I'll be writing about exactly this β€” and building something to help.

Before I write the next chapter β€” I'd like to know where you are in yours.
It takes 2 minutes. And it shapes everything I build next.

Kind regards,

Dieter
