I don't usually write on Wednesday. But this couldn't wait.

If you’re in a senior role and you can feel that your “next chapter” is getting closer, this matters—because the jump from experience to a real consulting business isn’t about motivation. It’s about doubts and fear, and especially missing structure.

Remember those four questions I asked on Saturday? They weren’t random.

Each one points to a specific structural gap that stops most senior executives from turning their experience into a business that actually works.

Let me show you what I mean.

Question 1 â€” Can you describe, in one clear sentence, the business problem you solve today — for which type of client — and why you would be the obvious choice tomorrow as an external advisor/consultant?

→ That's your Positioning. Without it, you're invisible in a crowded market — even with 30 years of broad and specific experience behind you.

Question 2 â€”  Do you have an offer that a potential client can understand, evaluate, and say yes to — without you having to explain it for 20 minutes first?

→ That's your Offer System. Experience alone is not an offer. Clarity for the customer is.

Question 3 â€” Do you have a way to consistently start and maintain conversations with the right people — and move those conversations toward a decision?

→ That's your Sales System. Not pitching — creating the right conversations with the right people.

Question 4 â€” When someone looks you up before deciding whether to reach out — what do they find? Does it build trust before you even speak?

→ That's your Trust System. Clients decide before they call. What they find shapes whether they do.

If one or more of these is still unclear — that's not a personal failure. It's a structural gap. And structural gaps have structural solutions.

This is what Expert Shift OS is built for.

A structured program for senior executives who want to turn their experience into a focused consulting or interim management business — at their own pace, with the right tools and support.

The program is built around the same four systems: Positioning, Offer, Sales, and Trust.

Stefan B., who completed the program:

"Clear structure, high practicality, and real executability — I could directly adapt it for my business, especially positioning, offer structure, and sales logic."

September this year starts in June
There is a certain feeling in September. You know it. The summer is not fully over yet, but something in the air changes.People return from vacation.Business conversations restart.Projects move again.Decisions get made.It feels like a new beginning. And for many senior executives who think about starting their own consulting business, September becomes the mental starting line. “After the summer...
A beautiful website will not save an unclear offer
When you move from executive to entrepreneur, visibility is not the first problem. Relevance is.  I hear this sentence quite often from senior executives who are preparing their next chapter: “I need to become more visible first. I have invested in my own website. It is almost ready.” I understand this very well. After many years in corporate life, we want things to look professional.A clear pr...
Going independent is not the risk. Building without a system is.
Dear Reader, In almost every conversation I have with senior executives considering the move into independence, the same fear surfaces. Usually late. Usually quietly. It sounds like this: "And what happens when, after a good start, there are suddenly three months with nothing?" I understand that fear completely. I have lived it. And here is what I have learned: those empty months are real — but...
